Services

Who do we serve?

At Atlas Psychiatry, we provide biblically informed psychotherapy, medication management, and holistic interventions to Christian men, women, and adolescents. We focus on healing the mind, rather than merely managing symptoms, and are available to help those who desire to withdraw from psychiatric medications.

About Our Therapy

At Atlas Psychiatry you can expect appointments to involve psychotherapy that utilizes principles borrowed from psychodynamic theory, Internal Family Systems, and EMDR. Psychodynamic theory closely aligns with how God designed the human mind. Our negative emotions are an alarm system for lies we believe about God or ourselves. Following our negative emotions to their source helps us find these lies and replace them with God’s truth. It’s never too late! Our emotions are not the enemy, they are the guide that God gave us to point us toward healing.

Appointments

Initial Appointment

An initial appointment includes a thorough evaluation of your life to better understand the factors contributing to your mental health. Initial appointments last between 50-60 minutes and create a foundation for future appointments.

Follow Up Appointment

Follow up appointments will be for ongoing psychotherapy and medication management, as needed. Appointments will last between 50-60 minutes.

Life Coaching

Life coaching involves helping you navigate and orient yourself through acute stress or life changes. Appointments will last between 50-60 minutes.

PAYMENT

Atlas Psychiatry is accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield or out-of-pocket payments. We accept payment at time of service, and require that all clients keep a credit card on file. If you do not have BCBS, check with your insurance provider to see if they will let you submit receipts independently for out-of-network psychiatric care. You also may be able to use a qualified HSA, FSA, or HRA.

Questions for Insurance

If you do not have Blue Cross Blue Shield, we suggest contacting your insurance provider to determine if services with Atlas will be reimbursed. We recommend you discuss these things:

  • Let your insurance provider know that you are seeking “outpatient mental health” treatment from an “out of network” psychiatric nurse practitioner.
  • Ask about reimbursement for the service.
  • Ask what the “usual and customary fee allowable” is for the service.
  • Ask what percentage of the usual and customary fee you will be reimbursed or how much you will be reimbursed after the deductible.
  • Ask if there are limits to your coverage such as number of appointments allowed in a year.
